No matter where you are relocating from, we can support you.

If you are a Croatian national, you will need to apply for a purple registration certificate.

As of the 1st April 2017, you must get a police check from any country where you have lived for 12 months or longer in the past 10 years. In addition to this we will require references and Right to Work in the UK documents.

Skilled workers from outside the EU need a Tier 2 visa to work in the UK. To check if you require a UK visa to work in the UK, you can visit the Gov.uk website.

Certificate of Sponsorship

To work within the UK you will need sponsorship for your visa application. Sponsorship can be provided and funded by your employer following them offering you a job.

Once provided with a certificate of sponsorship (COS), you have 90 days to relocate before the COS is no longer valid.

Visa Application

Once you have received your COS, you can apply for your visa. Should you need help at this stage we can provide guidance.

Following your application you must attend a face-to-face document submission session and submit your passport. The face-to-face session typically takes place within a week of your application.

Visa Costs

Visas typically cost around £500 per applicant. Should you have any dependants, they will be expected to pay £200 per year of the visa.

In some circumstances your employer may cover this cost. Your consultant will inform you if this is the case.

After completing and providing all of the above, you will usually receive your visa within a month. However visa processing times vary depending on the circumstances and time of year.

Visa Processing Times

Upon receiving your visa, you will be granted an entry permit to the UK which is valid for 30 days. After arriving in the UK you will be provided with a Biometric Residence Permit.

Eligibility for a Tier 2 UK visa is calculated by a points based system. You must score 50 in table 1 and 20 in table 2 in order to be eligible.

Checks needed for your visa

UKVI IELTS - English Language Proficiency

As you may know, part of the visa application process requires you to take the IELTS exam. The test is designed to prove your English Language Proficiency for entering the UK. If you have already taken the UKVI IELTS test and it is still valid, you don’t need to worry about it.

The score required for Tier 2 visa purposes is 4.0, much lower than the standards required by the NMC/HCPC.

Typically it will take 2 weeks for your results to appear.

Maintenance

To qualify for a tier 2 visa you must prove that you have the following:

  • Minimum £945 savings in account for 90 days before you apply
  • £630 per dependent (spouse + children under 18) in account for 90 days before you apply

Your sponsor may cover this for you, your consultant will inform you if this is the case.

TB test

Some applicants will be required to take a TB test depending on which country you are applying from. 

Benefits of the Health and Care Visa

The Health and Care visa was introduced to make it quicker and easier for health and care professionals to reach the UK and work in the NHS. Some of the key benefits of this visa are :

  • Faster processing times : Applicants can expect to receive the outocme of their application within three weeks following the biometric enrolment.
  • Lower application fees : The Health and Care visa has a reduced application fee compared to other visas. The reduced fee also applies to partners and dependants of suitable applicants.
  • Exemption of the IHS (Immigration Health Surcharge) : In addition to having a reduced application fee, workers eligible for this visa, and their dependants, will not have to pay the IHS surcharge (£400 per year)
